Bookmark topic
I thought id give it a go as i was bored cus my broadband is playing up a lot,i set the settings right and used an old dial up # i used before i had broadband. Im using bluetooth and everything went thru ok but i had loads of pop ups from my norton firewall warning of of intrusions

i dont get them using BB. Anyway, whats the cheapest # to dial as i was using an 0845 # and that costs me a bit, cheers

If you want to use the GPRS then install the software that came with the phone and then Windows Dialup can use the GPRS connection on the phone to connect. This is a lot quicker than dialing out using the normal 9.6k modem, and if its free, even better!
As for the "intrusions" you experienced, is your broadband modem connected to your computer or do you get it through a router or other network? A router would pick up the intrusions if so, hence why you dont normally get any.
Hope this helps

Problem is, as far as I know mobile networks charge for calls to freephone numbers, so whatever number you end up settling for, Orange will bill you.
Also, I don't think data calls are included in Orange's inclusive minutes - you'll need to confirm that with them.

I just rung Orange, they told me that 0845 numbers are free in my 50 mins(i always thought i'd get charged at least 6p a min),after that its 1p a min off peak or 12p a min peak. Gprs is £3 a mb so it looks like ì'll be using dial up if i need to use my phone as a modem. :-)
