Cannes, France – Last night, the Sony Ericsson T610 camera phone was awarded the prestigious award for “Best handset, terminal or device” during the GSM Association’s 2004 Awards evening at the 3GSM World Congress.
“In the opinion of our independent judging panel, the Sony Ericsson T610 is a great phone, which is really easy to use for communication as well as imaging. They believed it opens up access to applications and technologies that people were not using before”, says Mark Smith, Communications Director of the GSM Association.
“During its time on the market, the T610 camera phone has grown to become one of the true design classics among current consumer products and together with its great ease-of-use, the T610 deserves to be selected as the best mobile phone,” says Jan Wäreby, Executive Vice President and Head of Sales and Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “On behalf of our organisation that made this happen, I’m proud and grateful to receive this prominent award, and we take it as a further confirmation of that Sony Ericsson is on the right track with its product family of mobile phones.”
The T610 has a stunning design; sleek, simple and stylish, combining a unique aluminium finish with a contrasting piano-black lacquer. Its large 65K colour screen, integrated camera and QuickShare™ functionality makes mobile imaging simple and entertaining for all. Added to this are great MMS capabilities, the support of PC applications, making T610 the core of a compelling total imaging package.
Having fun is part of the appeal of T610. With support for two mobile gaming platforms, Java™ and Mophun™, consumers can play well-known games such as V-Rally 2™ as well as download literally hundreds of new games. For the budding DJ, T610 has a built in Music DJ application which lets consumers create their own polyphonic ringtones.
The T610 has serious business uses too. It stays connected to e-mails and keeps contacts, calendar and tasks up to date by easy synchronising with PC or Mac. With Bluetooth™, Infra Red and cable support, connecting to PC, Mac, PDA or other device could not be easier.
To further expand the usages of the T610, Sony Ericsson offers a wide range of accessories, such as the Sony Ericsson FM Radio handsfree HPR-20 or the Digital Bluetooth Music Player handsfree HBM-30. There is also a range of compatible car kits for safe driving. For those without a car or driver’s licence, the Car-100 is a matchbox-sized racing car which can be raced across the floor, controlled over Bluetooth with the T610.
The T610 is available on most GSM-markets. For more information about the T610, please visit

The T610 is for the masses.
The Pxxx's are for the chosen few.....

Not the chosen few at all, just those who can be bothered to stump up the cash for it. Doesn't make them 'chosen.'
Well done to the T610

The best phone I've ever owned.

#BadBaby
I do - own a P800 - but cant be bothered using it cause the T610 is so much nicer. Never really did like the P800, and regreted getting one only 1 week after I got the P800 once the first infatuation was gone - its not a great phone, its not a great pda. I'd rather use my T610 and my Ipaq 2210 - one is a great phone the other a great PDA. Now my P800 is collecting dust in a closetdrawer.
So theres no reason to try an dizz people for having chosen different than you - and owning a Pxxx doesnt make you that special or that "chosen".
