I recently got a newer T616 with better FirmWare (R1B027, if I remember correctly). Anyways, I haven't used it yet (waiting for my faceplate to dry, so I can put a customized one on it). Well, having had my computer stolen, I haven't put anything on, or taken anything off of my older FW phone (R1A054). I have kept it like this for around a month. I simply make calls on it, listen to ringers, change themes and view my screensavers.

However, for the past week, I have noticed that occasionally (maybe twice or three times) when the phone is in the clock screensaver, if I push a button, the clock will look distorted. The top half of the clock will not be aligned with the bottom half.

Now, please don't say, "Well, that is what FW fixes". Tell me why this is happening. I haven't changed anything on the phone, and it started acting funny. Is the FW bugged, so that after a certain amount of time, if not upgraded, it will start to act funny? What's the deal? I know that there are people on this forum who have T68i's and T610's and T616's who have said that they have had their phone for over 2, 3, 4, etc. years, and never gotten an FW upgrade, yet their phone still works well, with no problems. I've only had my phone for about 3 or 4 months.

Also, what should I expect new with the FW phone? I have already noticed two changes: there is now an "AM" or "PM" on the clock screensaver, and now on the "Symbols Pop-up Page", the symbols have been reduced so there is no longer a scrollbar.

What else has been upgraded? I didn't notice the phone being faster, but what else other than this should I notice?

Thanks!!!

Ethan

Think d only reason it make u pay 1 more time. And fixing d bugs. D brands present us almost every month a new fone, thats a very short time 2 test them. Look at d /// oldies, my 337 works perfect with a 10 y old fw! Those were d times... This message was posted from a R520

that's the fw that i have. i think it is the one and only upgrade. here's what i noticed when i made the jump: when you go to games, is there a "shop games" option? and when you go to games and more, is there a "shop applications" option? this might be a cingular thing and not a fw issue, all i know is, it wasn't there before. also, check out your picture sizes now. notice how small they are? before, the pics i took were anywhere between, what, 30-60k? now they average 10-15k. so i guess yours should do the same. i have noticed games to be alot faster since the upgrade so try that as well. that's about all i can remember right now. i've had my upgrade for about a month now. the main thing all around was the speed. also, i think the t610 has more bugs than the t616 which is why it has to have more upgrades.

The clock is not alligned cuz it supposed to be that way.One hours like that, then at the next minute, a row down and a bit to the left or so.Then, so on.

701,

You didn't read my post careful enough. I know that the whole clock moves, but what I'm saying is that the actual numbers themselves are split. Gosh, do you think that I'm that stupid to actually think that?

I think the firmware updates are a product of the race to release the absolute newest and latest phone.SE, N**** and the rest have learned something from Bill Gates - why bother to spend months and millions making sure something actually works when you can get the punters to find all the faults and then fix them afterwards.
