> how to upgrade firmware for SE T610 in US?

The customer service asked me to call 1-877-234-3249, but the guy there said there is a 37$ charge. How did you guys manage to upgrade the firmware for free?

Out of warranty over here you'd have to pay unless you have a serious problem with your phone (the technician at the
service point will judge how serious your problem is... again, that's how it is over here)
Are you still under warranty?

In the US, the firmware upgrades are not necessarily free. Only recalled firmwares are completed free of charge. Sony Ericsson's main repair center charges $37 for mail in service. Their turnaround time is about 1 month currently.
You may also bring your phone to a service point. The service points will likely charge you for the firmware upgrade. Turnaround time should be a few hours at most.
