Just installed OPL on my P900, very cool. However, since its so new I'm having to learn via tutorials designed for other systems!! Its fine for the most part but, crucially, since the primary input on the P900 is the touchscreen I hit a rather large snag when I try and input data. Can anyone point me to a tutorial that explains it or help me out!!

Any ideas appreciated,

James

I'm curious about the install.

I've downloaded the UIQ OPL Dev Pack, but it points me at the SE developer site to download the C SDK where you can select Borland or CodeWarrier versions.

Does it MATTER which version you download since I assume its just so the OPL Dev Pack can access a few libraries and what not??

I'd like to know a working config before I start the download - its BIG - even over broadband!

Cheers. In anticipation of digging out the huge OPL coding manual I printed off back in Psion days!!

Ahhh the days of coding OPL back on the psion - I wrote programs for the 3/Siena/5mx and loved them all

Still got them hanging around somewhere....wonder if I can port them

Answering his own question it says,

"C++ SDK required: Symbian OS v7.0 UIQ 2.1 SDK for CodeWarrior, about 225 Mb (available from Symbian Developer Network page. Note: Download the Metrowerks CodeWarrior SDK.) "

...which I hadn't previously spotted!

OPL Event Core for UIQ is out!
OPL Event Core by Ewan Spence /FreEPOC is a 'skeleton' that you can hangy our own code round (menu and the default menu entries, soft key menu buttons, reaction to system messages). With half the work already done, your development should be a lot easier and quicker. It is available @ http://www.my-symbian.com
