Could you P800 owners share some of your feelings about recent betrayal by SE when you see all the new P900 owners are getting treated with free online updates after updates, and served with new softwares after softwares when you guys clearly paid almost as much money for your phone as the new P900 owners.
Let's hope SE customer relations department would get these messages!
Business beneficial reason is one thing, but knowing how to keep loyal customers is another! Personally, I think they need to re-think the way they are treating old customers.

But isn't that the way of the world.
When the P900 replacement is out, no doubt that will be casted to one side.

I can understand what you are saying, but what you must remember is that

can do what they want with their products. They are the manufacturer and they decide what benefits the consumer can have from their new products.
I can truly understand why you are feeling betrayed and i honestly hope somebody at

gets this message but you must remember it's a marketing decision and we don't really get a say in what's what.

SE are a business...this is how businesses work. We are lucky if we are given any updates at all...they aren't obliged to update the firmware for free...I wouldn't expect my hifi to be updated to play CDRW when it didn't when I bought it...

I wish everyone would just stop moaning.
P800 owners can get free software upgrades in the the first year of ownership if you take it to an authorised SE service centre.
However you'll only get a free upgrade if it is to resolve a 'fault' with the phone.
It's not like SE are not providing any support whatsoever.
They are providing effectively a one year guarantee, even outwith this one year, you can pay to get the firmware upgraded, so what's the problem?

I'm inclined to agree with you sanjeevjaya...
didn't we do this conversation when the P900 first came out, and didn't we do it again just yesterday in the latter part of
this thread?
exactly how long should

keep developing FREE upgrades for the P800? and then the P900 when it is superceded? I am a realist and know this will never happen.
They did do an exceptional job with the T68/T68i updating right up to firmware version R8A which was well after the time the T610 was available, but that was the exception
since people are just repeating here what has been said time and time again I am not sure how long we'll let this go on...

Can we add a poll where I can vote to lock this thread?
Can we please please please all get over it and move on?
and while I'm at it, let me too express my feelings of distinct displeasure about ppl never learning and never knowing when enough is enough:
Having that said, I respectfully request a lock
before this topic too gets out of hand

assuming the role of devil's advocate here: 'other companies may not need as many sw upgrades because they may have less bugs to fix in the first place'
