The same with me! I also have R1L.
I guess official spec. is marketing purpose only.
My old T39 was kick a** phone in terms of battery life.
I have charged it once a week (switched off during night
from 01am -07 am)
Too bad!

That's something I don't understand.
Firmware should (generally) fix bugs etc.
But how can you decrese power consumption (maybe phone light can
be "softer" or something)?
Thanx for reply, I will have to upgrade my firmware!

newer firmware will have less running, more efficient coding (in standby), so less computing and less power used= longer battery life!

Got R3 firmware in my t610. Only got phone 10 days ago and still up/downloading things to and from phone, playing games, using gprs ... Lasts 12-16 hours at that level of use
So guess it's down to *how* it's used - never had a phone I could do so much with before and has so much stuff available for it!!

ps: is it normal to change themes 4/5 or more times a day or do I need therapy

I personally think the small differences in firmware will affect your battery life in any noticeable way
but before we get into a big discussion about battery care etc I'd suggest a read of this thread
Tips to care for your battery
and perhaps a browse through some of these
previous discussions
