I have had my P900 for a couple of weeks now and it stopped syncronising after about a week. I trawled this site which gave good advice but did not solve my problem which was a visible connection through the base station via USB but no recognition of the P900 by the PC using the Sony software. I eventually tracked the problem down to the wudater.exe malware (or virus as some like to call it) which had somehow secreted itself on my machine. I used Spybot to shift it and was able to get my PC to recognise my P900 once again. So if you are having a hard time syncronising, do run Spybot or Adware and check for nasties messing about with you system. It could save you time and hair. Good luck to those who find this useful.
PS. The P900 is the biz!!
