Phone the information line from your o2 handset for free on 2202 and it will explain all you need to know but basically it's just been extended for another month

p800si: That sounds extremely familiar...
Went to Ibiza and used GPRS for free. Great while it lasted. One week after getting there, my sim was barred. (Invalid Mobile). E-Mailed O2 from Ibiza and they informed me my Simcard had been barred. After about 2 weeks of e-mailing they finally contacted me on my home number. Informed me i had made £300 worth of calls (Weird though, I only had £10 credit) And they wouldn't unbar my sim...
Looks like they dont like you using it abroad, But wheres it says that you can't?
Not sure how many people this has happened to, but I doubt there's anything we can do about it either.

Check the T's&C's of the free GPRS deal, and if it aint mentioned that they can cut you off then you can complain to them about it. Just phone O2 and mention the words "Terms and Conditions", usually scares them into doing things

i even said over the phone that i only used it 4txt trough o2pocket, they phoned back half an hour later saying gprs was free even abroad! and they said they have the times i was on gprs and when i was supposedly on the phone! checked call history, nothing! even gave them permission to call the numbers.they wouldn't even tell me the numbers unless i appeal in writing.data protection so why! cant be the only ones.

Yep. I didn't get anywhere with them. I wanted to know how i could make £300 worth of calls when I only have £10 credit and not make a single phone call. Coincidently "They can't discuss the way their service works with customers". hmm, How did i expect them not to discuss the matter any further?
What they really meant was, You're costing us too much on Free GPRS and we dont want your custom anymore.

Just a thought but surely the reason you were charged was because you were using a partnership network in the country that you were in that has a charging policy set up for gprs access whereas o2 still has not set theirs up so free access would only be available in uk just a guess This message was posted from a P800
