I recently bought a T630 and didn't charge it up to the initial recommended 20 hours - couldn't wait so charged it for 12 hours. But my battery lasts about 4 days.

How long does your battery last for an average normal usage? Is mine normal or lower than expected?

My old T38i used to last for 3 days, and I expected this newer model to last for longer.

Thanks!

The initial charge is 4 hours, not 20 hours. This is mentioned on page 5 of the manual.

I don't charge my T630 from Friday to Monday usually and with a fair number of calls and some GPRS the battery is around half

I got my t630 on saturday, and the kind young man at carphone warehouse told me to charge it for 16hours.. which i thought was a little bit weird.

Only did it for 4 though, cos the manual has gotta be right

What is mentioned in the manual is for normal usage, meaning after the "treatment" of the battery so that it forms the thin layer which is vital for a long battery life that should be done with a new battery. The first three times charge up for 20 hrs and discharge until empty. Then you can charge approx 4 hrs as mentioned..

well this has been discussed over and over, but the 4 hours is mentioned in the "getting to know you" part of the manual and in the same sequence where it tells you to insert the sim card and replace the baterry and back cover and connect the charger.

so this 4 hours doesn't sound like a recommendation for later use, its definitly written for when you first get the phone. NO where does it mention 20 hours, or first three charges etc

The standard talk time obtained is around 3 days with GPRS usage at around 2-3 hours daily. The charging time at the start should be at around 4-5 hours.
