Do not get me wrong but I love my P900...as I did my P800 before that... but each one has put a tear in my eye... the P800 keypad lugs snapped off causing me to purchase a new keypad... and very similar my P900 just under the keypad...a little bit of plastic cracked and snapped off..now is held together with a little superglue...and although you can not see it with the keypad shut...I know it is there...

I have also recently..played around with the Z200....cute little youth phone...and my second phone is a Z600... which I love also...and of it was not for the capability of the P900... I would make it the main phone...

So... I would like to see the P900 successor to be in the form of a flip phone in the way that the Z600 is...or even in the way the Z200 is....with the improved features of the touch screen and software...

What do you think??

A communicator style phone but the size of a t610 when folded would put the wind up nokia. This message was posted from a T610

@ smilerthecheshirecat
What's the point of a Z600/Z200 style flip phone with a touch screen?
What would you put on the area where the buttons usually go as there'd be no need for permanent buttons AND a touch screen. And I wonder about the stability of such a design, writing on the touch screen with the rest of the phone floating around on the other end of a flip.
Also it'd be HUGE!! A flip the size of a P900!!

I think it has got to be the same style or it wouldn't be the successor.

Where I am coming from is the protective nature that the clam style phone has to offer...
Because of the breaking parts of my P800 and P900!

well maybe i got it wrong but i thought he was thinking more of a z600 quality p900 size?

well i don't have any problems with the build quality though i agree that the squeking makes me angry
but what would i want?
well for me a dream phone would be p900 size and design, t610 materials, ms duo PRO, better processor and more ram, support for other files (like: wma, wmv (though this would never happen ), ogg, mpg, avi, ppt ( ), mini usb port (ok who doesn't hate the cradle ), wi-fi (nice but bluetooth works fine for no )
support for audio external display (much like the ones sony uses on their discmans..), NO camera
ok i think that is it.....

All the improvements are fairly obvious: MS Pro Duo for bigger expansion (although these are still ridiculously overpriced), slightly smaller case, better screen, better camera. The only question really is if there will be a 3G model or not.

I would agree that the 3G question is an importnant one. The 3G market isn't huge at the moment, at least here in Europe anyway, but it is expanding all the time. A 3G smartphone with video-phone (correct term ?) capabilities would be dashed smart. However, it would have to be of similar or smaller dimensions to the P900 and a battery that had a better life expectancy than a lame wilderbeest who had mistakeningly attended the 'Hungry Lions of Africa's' annual christmas dinner dance.
Impossible? No. Improbably? Yes.

well we have 3g here for months but i still don't see anything that good about it... yeah it's the future but i don't think i need it
i use gprs for emails only and yeah it would be nice if it would go faster....
maybe it's going to catch me this year (i mean the 3g flow )
so yeah i would also like 3g...
but i don't want a freakin camera!!
oh and 100m bt would be nice
and a 19 inch monitor and, and , and...

Id like a similar design to the p900 but with a few added features, such as thermometer, electronic compass with the use of a hall effect device, barometer, humidity sensor etc... all very cheap and easy to implement, and wouldnt they be useful/fun? In addition, id like to be able to assign the internet button to a 3 foot light saber which would extend from the top of the phone, for cutting cheese/defeating intergalactic villains etc...

It should have

1) Larger screen. The unit currently has a lot of space on the top, bottom and sides of the screen that can be utilized. (perhaps and OLED but that is probably an impossibility at this point)

2) WiFi support. The lack of WiFi is the only thing that I really miss on the current P900.

3) Support for DUO Pro

4) More internal memory and ram

5) Faster Processor

6) Integrated ATI Imageon GPU (unlikely but would be VERY nice)

It shouldn't be a clamshell as the current design makes more sense with a touchscreen. Shouldn't be a Communicator type design. This would make absolutely no sense with a touchscreen. People who want a Communicator should buy one. This phone is for people who want a smaller form factor and more PDA type functionality. I believe that the current design in perfect. I haven't had any problems with build quality with my P800 or P900. Personally I was waiting for a phone with this very design years before it was actually introduced.
