I know that P900 doesnt support pro cards, so that would mean that it didnt support cards over 128mb, but today I found normal ms duo cards on 512mb would they work on my P900 See here for the duo's: http://www.mobilkompagniet.dk[....]t.asp?Action=Details&Item=4446

PS: sorry for my english I'm from Norway and wrote it a bit fast.

? That link is to a 512MB DUO _pro_ . That aint gonna work.

As far as I knew the max you could get in a DUO _non pro_ was 128MB, though I have heard rumors that you can get 256 DUO cards.

Either way, you'd probably need a firmware update for the P900 to accept the bigger cards.

I agree with kevwood - I wish someone who had actually tried these 256Mb/512Mb Duo Pros with a Px00 would say something. I've heard numerous people, especially on this forum, whose views I respect, say that it won't work, but I don't think I'll really want to believe it until someone has actually tried it.

And let's not have the crap about White Papers, please....we can all read, and the fact of the matter is that it's not clear. It also doesn't make sense that a Duo Pro should be available before any devices that can use it!

@Dave_UK

There are a couple things you could do that could clear everything up for you in about 2 minutes.

1st - Use the "search" button. Learn it frontwards, backwards, sideways which ever way. Just learn to use it.

2nd - The confusion comes about because of a simple reason. The vendors are just as ignorant about memory stick terminology as the average consumer. With that said, when a vendor post an incorrect item description the consumer assumes it's true. I can understand that the assumption is part of a trusting nature that the consumer would have in the vendor as being knowledgable and well in formed. However, that is not the case. The market researchers that choose the items that each company should sell are sometimes non-informed or confused.

Now you will find both points 1 & 2 discussed several times on this forum for the past year. Moreover, being that Rashk- said no doesn't mean that members haven't simply 'tried' it as you suggested. As a matter of fact several members have tried this since the release of the P900. Moreover, these vendors have been posting incorrect product descriptions since the release of the P900. Put 2 & 2 together and you'll understand to let this discussion rest once and for all... Take it from the Esato vets that have a knack for research & development. We know what we're talking about.. At least the some of us.

By the way, I thought the MODs were going to post this as a sticky? I had some pretty intuitive post on this subject matter including a complete memory stick compatibility chart... Please stop the madness!!

Indeed, thank you BigFeat. Though, I doubt I will ever understand one thing even if I should gather all the knowledge there is to have about Mobile Phones - why do people on this forum (especially those who claim to, and indeed SEEM to know what they are talking about) find it impossible to resist any temptation to patronise people who ask questions? If it troubles you all to such an extent, when you see something you have read before, how about trying the revolutionary concept of ignoring it, or, better still, just give a helpful response.

Whilst I appreciate, in between lecturing me on the use of the search and previous posts, that you are trying to help in some way - you have managed only to tell me that vendors of such complex pieces of electronics do not know what they are selling (something I am luckily astute enough to have worked out for myself) and that I should listen to you and the fellowship of unqualified experts on all matters in doubt.

Don't get me wrong, I am sure you are factually 100% correct, but how much easier would it be to post either an answer or a link, rather than write an essay that actually says nothing?

Power to the ignorant!

Incidentally, in case you're wondering what I'm talking about, check out Rashkae's recent posts, something like 90% of which just consist of "use the search" - why waste the effort writing it????????

snipp...

I have said the following a couple of times already in some of the other duo pro threads...

I have a Sony DSC-T1 camera which takes memory stick duo pro, and I have a 256mb duo pro and a 512mb duo pro. I have tried both in my P900 with latest firmware and it DOES NOT WORK.

I don't get any error, the duo pro is simply not recognised and does not show up with a drive letter

believe me, I try it with every firmware update, not that I believe it will ever work but just so I can answer threads like this with a definitive answer
