I currently have a P800 locked on Orange, however its 12months old and Im thinking of changing to Vodafone (I'll simply start a new contract, sell the vodafone phone and put the sim in the P800)
However will the vodafone sim work in the P800 without unlocking it? A few people have told me that it will, but has anyone tried it?
Cheers!
Pete

There is no harm in tryin, it wont mess up the phone if you try a mates Voda SIM in it. If it says SIM card rejected, get it unlocked.. it only costs £10a and it takes seconds!

No Orange lock their phones and SIM cards so you can't use either a Vodafone SIM in an Orange phone or an Orange SIM in a Vodafone phone. I have noticed that Vodafone are starting to lock them to, long live SIM free phones!

I too have used my Orange SIM in my old T610 unlocked from T-Mobile.
At the risk of re-stating what has been said a long time ago in another thread - it is only the handset that is only ever locked (3 excepted).
