Hello there!
I am from Portugal and I bought a P800 cell phone in UK when I was in London for 3 days working.
When I bought that phone, it was the first in Portugal...
So... as you imagine, I've got the R1D firmware on the phone!
This monday (2004-03-01), I go at the SONY ERICSSON technical center to make a firmware upgrade.
I give the phone and wait 1 hour for it. 1 hour later, the man told me that my phone had a crash when they tried to upgrade-it.
The phone is working, but the mainboard is DAMAGED and need a REPLACE of all the equipment.
The problems are many: bluetooth, infrared, usb... doesn't work anymore, and the battery is up only for 2 hours!
They told me that they can't do anything, because I bought the phone outside my country and the only way is to replace all the phone!
I called to the SONYERICSSON HELPDESK center (free line) and explained everything.
Now, I have a broken phone, and when I left it on the Technical Center it was fine (only with old and buggy firmware version).
They ask me for 2 things...
1. the document from the TECHNICAL CENTER...
2. the invoice of the equipment.
Here I've got my problem, I don't know where I've put the invoice!
I just remember that I bought the phone in a "TMOBILLE" store!
Can anyone help me in this please?
I just need an INVOICE from someone that bought his phone in TMOBILLE store in JUNE/JULY 2003!
If anyone can send me that scanned document in JPEG or PDF format I will thank you a lot!!!
I really need to solve my problem!!!
Regards for averyone,
From Portugal,
Claudio Mateus Conceicao

The tmobile invoice will have an IMEI number of the phone that was purchased, so it obviously won't match yours. Go back to the service centre you got it flashed and request a new phone.

Technically, if they damaged the phone they are responsible for fixing or replacing it. Thats why most service centres refuse to upgrade unless you have proof of purchase or warranty. At least here anyway.
On another note, I can only guess you didnt buy it cash. So get your credit card receipt as proof of purchase beacuse NO-ONE here is stupid enough to give you a copy of their invoice.
There are alot of nice assholes who steal phones and try to aquire working IMEI's so that they can get the stolen phone working on a barred network. Then creat an account here on esato and ask questions like yours. So we would be very sceptical about what you are asking.
And to all the scammers out there, GET LOST!!!.

Methinks Senor Conceicao is telling porkies or is very silly:
1. Didn't think T-Mobile shops sold the P800, at least not for very long, and not sure it was available on T-Mobile back in June/July!
2. Who buys a piece of electronic equipment worth around £500, with an international warranty, and doesn't bother to keep the receipt?!
Either way, mate, you don't appear to be getting very far in your quest to con an invoice from honest Esatoans, and since

won't touch it otherwise, you need another plan!

sounds like *TOTAL* BS. Why wait so long to upgrade, and what your are telling us is technically impossible, they don't even need a screwdriver to update the phone, so you can't break hardware with software! And if a mainboard is damaged your phone won't work at all, trust me!
MOREOVER, you need your invoice to reflash it (at least here), making your story totally unbelievable.
point 2:
as mentioned already, who buys £500 hardware and loses the invoice before the guarantee expires? Whohahaha...
Conclusion: Anyone who actually sends his invoice to this highly suspicious request should be voted ESATO MORON OF THE YEAR !
Sorry pal, your fault, live with it, but don't ask anyone here to do anything illegal. Too much fraud going on already with expensive stolen phones.
