Hi all
I was wondering if anyone could help with the P900 update service. As stated above when I begin the process and im waiting for the application to start in a new window I get an error messege saying that I only need one syncstation and to remove the other from my PC but I only have the one plugged in! Anyone else had this issue? I've tried reinstalling the PC suite and stuff but its still happing. This way I'll never be able to update me phone, Thanx in advance guys

Have you searched on registry (regedit) on the usb section if there are more than one usb port associated to the syncstation device?
You can delete the keys and try to reinstall.

right click on My Computer, and goto properties.

Then on the hardware tab goto device manager. On this, expand Universal Serial Bus Devices, and see if theres two listed... If there is, right click on one and goto uninstall

Just surf on regedit to find associated port to syncstation, maybe an error has duplicated the virtual device.

I'm having the same problem as the original poster.

I've had a look through the USB controllers in the device manager and it looks something like this:

Generic USB Hub
Generic USB Hub
SEMC DSS-20 syncstation
usb composite device
usb mass storage device
usb root hub
usb root hub
via tech 3038 pci to usb universal host controller
via tech 3038 pci to usb universal host controller

I guess the SEMC DSS-20 is the syncstation as it's the only one with the manufacturer as SonyEricsson in the properties.

Any suggestions? Shall I try getting rid of the other duplicate entries?

Thanks.

unplug all syncstation hardware, go into device manager, remove all listed USB devices.

restart PC...re-install.
