> Odd Z600 handset ?

Hey All,
I just bought a second hand Z600 handset. I just started to play around with it and came across these "oddities". Can anyone clarify the following:
1. When I checked the software on the phone using the status menu - it returned that the phone type was a T610. I heard the software on the T610 and Z600 was the same but should it display my Z600 as a T610 ?
2. The sticker behind the battery sayis that it is a "Prototype TMP1+A (FP1) and "NOT TYPE APPROVED". Does this mean than this phone is a prototype and not actually released ?
3. How can I extract the software version from the phone ? Is there any way to update the software ?
I'm in Australia and apparently it is from overseas. It is a tri-band and seems to work ok here. Should I be concerned ?

if your Z600 says its a T610 then I would say that somthing is wrong. My Z600 says that it is a Z600

I guess wht you bought was an internal testing phone that might have been created for the specific purpose of beta testing etc...If its still under warranty show it to the Nearest SE center,
Also while I was getting my phone checked out, I was told of how to identify grey cells(maybe classified undertypes like your phone) does your battery have any symbols on it..does your sticker inside the phone have any symbols on it..chk it out...

I'm guessing that if it works ok - why worry ?
By the way - is there any way to flash the firmware on this phone ?
