can somebody please explain how to keep my P900 up to date. I keep reading about the firmware updates, but I looked at SE.com, and that was no help. And I have to pay for them, is that true, also?

Hi,

I've been reading this thead and i've got a question.

I bought a P900 on Monday and must say it's the dogs bo**ocks, beats the nokia phones anyday........ anyway my quesion is this i've tried to update my phone with the lastest software version from the SE.COM site and i get to the point where it says "Please Wait Checking the installation of Sony Ericsson Update Service" and thats it. Can someone advise me what i'm doing wrong and also will it make any difference update the software.

The only thing i can think of, but can't see why it'll make a difference and that is i'm using a LAN to connect to the internet.

Regards

Rick

@Rick_kap

i've had this prob with my pc...has something to do with either.
a) not supporting pentium processor or
b) your windows version is not complient or does not have the service pack (SPx) installed.
i gather this cause i'm able to continue past this point however, cant update the phone as i'm unable to install anything on the buisness pc. my suggestion is to get the service pack (i.e. for xp its sp1a).

btw my first post! horray for me!

the latest version for an UNBRANDED p900 is R4A06 so i guess your phone is branded by your operator.
