Why is it that you can us a .wav file for the mms template and play it but can not use it as a ringtone??

i've never succesfully used a .wav for MMS either, because the phone does not support wavs. It supports .mid and .imy

I have on accosion got .amr files when transferring received MMS to the PC (are those similar to .wav?? coz they sound like midis to me)

Will get this, if i send the audio file from the MMS template to my computer via infa red it is saved on the desktop as a .wav file !.

SO in someways the Z600 does support wav files correct?

but *correct me if I'm wrong* this is the format to which certain computers will save received MMS content. That does by no means mean you can use the .wav or .ams file unchanged as a rington on your phone.

Here's an idea. Send a wav back to your phone and see what happens. I'm guessing your pc auto changes it to a recognisaale format. This message was posted from a T300
