Im looking to connect up my pc with my T68 so i can sync outlook with the phones calendar and also send background pics.
Would i be best buying a cable or infared adapter.
Also does one have advantages over the other ?

THANKS

The DRS-10/11 Serial Cable is less of a hassle and always works (especially if you have Windows XP and/or a Notebook with FIR).

Advantages? For IrDA you have to lower the speed anyway. If you don't mind carrying a cable, go for it.

Actually the IR connection is faster than the cable when sending to the phone. I have tryed both, and IR is faster.
You don't need to slow the IR port down if you want to sync or use the phone to connect to the Internet. You only have to slow the IRconn. down to 9,6 when you want to send a background pic to it.

I say start with IR, and if it doesn't work nicely then go for the cable. Or even Bluetooth.

With the data cable you can hook up the charger to the cradle so that you always charge the phone while sync'.
Nice.

Yes, but all of you do not forget !! Infrared can be used with all phones which have an infrared port, which means more value for your money. If you change a phone, then you can always use the infrared....
