im having troubles with getting my phone to detect my data cable, i have a SE T230 and a T610 and neither one detects it. I have installed the drivers correctly but when i go into "connectivity" on the phone the "Accessories" is still greyed out. When i goto the picture software i got with the T610 it doesnt detect the phone and in the phone monitor nothing comes up there, i was wondering if anyone could give me some advice on how to get this thing working, its kinda been stressful and id like to hope i didnt waste $60 on a cable that doesnt work. Id also like to know how to transfer things once the cable detects that there is a phone plugged in.
thanks

Try downloading fMA from
https://sourceforge.net/
It doesn't need MPM to detect your phone and you can upload/download files with it.

uploading from phone to PC with a cable works for the T610 only.
With Mobile Phone Monitor, yo need to enable the COM port that corresponds to the cable.

@estor
I assume your refering to the mms software which only sends mms templates and is useless for anything else.
The fma allows you to send and recieve stuff from any t-series phone.
Besides the OP says they also have a 610 and that dosnt work either.
I have a post about a similar tbl it explains getting the cable to work.

Unfortunately Ive only had the opportunity to try it on my t616 and t68 and it works on both.
I was at a site that I linked to from another thread here but now I cant find and didnt bookmark but I thought I saw a blurb about it working on all t series phones.
If you follow the link I posted I give info on setting up the cable and the comports. If you get it working on t610 the other phone should work too. The fma is free and worth a shot. So work on the t610 first
I should probably add that the only indication the phone sees the data cable is that it shows its charging. Its the program that shows the phone connected. But first you need to make sure the cable is detected by the comp first

"The fma allows you to send and recieve stuff from any t-series phone"

That is simply not true with a CABLE. You cannot send a picture from most T series phones to the PC with a cable. You can use PhoneBackup or phone book picture caller ID workaround to send these things to the PC indirectly. I am 100% sure FMA does not receive pictures from T200 and T300 series.

---------------------------------------
That may be true for your specific non-OEM cable. All OEM SE data cables (USB and Serial) will NOT charge the phone in any way, shape or form. You can however verify the functionality of the cable by the HyperTerminal test using AT commands.

FMA works with all SE phones, to various degrees (limited by the PHONE's capability). For the T230, you may need to change the speed of the COM port that corresponds to your cable to 9600. You can do that under Device Manager.

You phone will not show anything under "accessories" even when a cable is conencted to it.
Make sure that your COM2 on your PC is enabled and working. Make sure that COM2 appears under Device Manager. It is often disabled through the BIOS.
Is your cable a proper data cable, and not an unlocking cable? Other than that, anything that can be done is already mentioned in this thread.
