Wow, this little mp3 player has some kick to it once you put he headphones on. Never reallt expected that much bass! However, the headphones that come with the unit are the kind that make my ears hurt after a while. Is it possible to put another set of headphones on, and if so, what are they?

Can't get to a link right now but you could get a 2.5 mm/ 3.5 mm adaptor. Then simply attach your favorite headset. =)

well, 2.5mm is the headset standard, and watch you don't short out your mic connection there by using a cheap adapter...
check out
www.pc-mobile.com
They have some designed for the px00..

@dazbradbury headset standard perhaps, but all decent headphones come with a 3.5mm jack. and i'd like to see what damage a cheapo adaptor will do, especially as it is almost identical to the one i got from maplins...

thanks for pointing out decent headphones come in 3.5 so do the shit ones. Mobile phones have and will probably for quite some time stick with there 2.5mm standard.
Mr Daz was correct when he mentioned possible shorting out with cheap head phone socekt converters as many dont take in to account the thierd connctor the Mic in the soccket so by useing a standard 2.5 to 3.5 converter which only supports stereo you are jeprodising the well being of your handset.

@flyingfinn cheers for the warning about the jeprodising! there is no documented evidence to suggest that using an adaptor harms the handset in anyway. feel free to prove me wrong, but the evidence just isn't there. plus, i'll be tossing this handset in 9 or 10 months anyway, so it's some other poor dudes problem...

Shorting a microphone connection, in most cases, simply grounds the input to the microphone preamplifier circuitry, and will probably do no harm whatsoever.

My dream has always been using the headset that comes with the HBM-30 player on my P800. Ideal - great sound, mic, 2.5mm jack.
Emailed SE Singapore to enquire the possibility of buying the headset without the HBM-30. Very unfavourable reply from them, though...
