I have a T300 on T-Mobile and want to use an O2 SIM card in it. I know where and how to get it unlocked and was just wondering if it voids the warranty?

Thanks in advance....

If you do it in, lats say second hand shop, then it will void your warranty. But if you in to a shop of your provider and you will tell them, that you will get it unlocked because you in aboard for a month or two and want to use another sim of provider and that country you will to go, them it will not void your warranty. Just don't tell the your true meanings of unlocking. Hope it helps. This message was posted from a T300

Right, new question! Sorry bout this!

My phone was originally on T-Mobile.. I've only EVER put a fiver on it (to use GPRS quickly) because I have a Virgin Mobi SIM! Anyway, although how helpful Virgin Mobile are, they cant get the unlocking code becoz its orignally T-Mobile. If i Call T-mobile, will they give me the unlocking code?

Cheers!

Possibly I had a contract with T-Mobile for several years (well, since they used to be one-2-one actually) and they refused to unlock my old nokia that I got through them. They gave me some bull about the fact that they only unlock your old handsets if you get a new (upgrade) one through them, not if you go with another company.

It might have been a one off and it might have been wrong, but I couldn't be bothered to argue with them because I ended up giving the phone to my girlfriend who already had a T-Mobile PAYG sim card, so it didn't need unlocking. Still, T-Mobile are a S***ty company, so I wouldn't guarantee it.

I'd ring them up anyway, you never know
