Can anyone tell (none of the staff in Vodafone stores can!!!) does the P900 use the same awfull voice control system as the P800, or have SE seen sence and fitted it with the class leading system fitted to the T610?

I am sorry could you make the question a bit clear please. What do you mean by the voice control system and what fault was there in your opinion in the p800 with that? I am asking this becasue I never heard anything about such a problem before.

Maybe on about the "Magic Word" which is technically useless as previously discussed. Or Voice Dial which is pretty good with BT headsets.

I think Nitro is relating to the way voice dialling works.

On the T6xx/Z600 series it works like this:
Record "Home, Mobile, Work and Other", and then you only need to record the name of each contact once. To dial, you say the name, then after the beep say one of Home, Mobile etc to dial the number in that contact position.

On the P800 and P900:
Unfortunately, you have to record for each and every type of number in each contact, which I agree is far less elegant than that of the T6xx and Z600 phones.

I wish SE would give us the option on which version to use... the T6xx/Z600 version is far more space-friendly, and you seem to be able to get more voice dials that way.

Regards,
Shane.

I agree with both.

For some people, being able to just say "xyz" is sufficient, whereas with my girlfriend, I have about four numbers, and I have to remember how I recorded it, which I agree is a royal pain in the ass.
