Having just installed my car holder and charger for my P900, very pleased with the result..

Can I hard wire the car charger cable to my stereo behind the dash board rather than plug it into the cigar lighter.

Has anybody hard wired the charger cable at all, or is there something electronic inside the box on the plug???

Hi,

Yes you can hard wire it into the back of you radio, there is a circuit board which you must include also this drops the voltage down to 7.5ish. if you dismantle it carefully you'll notice a Red and Black wire just connect these to a switch live +12 and earth, and job done.

I've done exactly this in my car and it works a treat.

Regards

Rick

Brilliant!! Great pic! I see you have a camera detector as well...how do you find it? I had 2 of them and both were faulty! Had to return them.

Got 6 points on my licence now and three just went out so I could do with it.

Whats this electronics bit you were talking about?

@jr I have an Origin B2.. this is my second unit after the first developed many hardware faults. It is an excellent device, accurate and nice and tidy.. but I feel that use in the real world was a neglected thought during the design and manufacture process

If this one packs up I'll be asking for a full refund

From the pics it looks like you have your car charger cable running accross your steering column and down to the lighter socket.

Having read the previous post and taking the plug to bits very carefully I think I will be able to hard wire it to the back of my stereo system.

From my pic you can see that the old SPV cradle is still mounted and that connects to the back of the stereo to get live and earth. So all I would have to do is to remove the old one and install the new one to the same connections.

The feet you can see belong to a scale model of Lara Croft...

jrmgolem, you wouldn't happen to be the guy who came into my shop not long ago who I showed the T630 to would you? I talked to you about the HCH-37?
Is the world really that small?

Sorry m8 but I have no idea what ya talkin about

I used a MS SPV Classic for a year and waited 6 weeks for my P900 to come via the internet. Cheapest way to buy anything.. I did ask Orange for the upgrade but at the time they wanted £299 for it! Laugh!

Although I did go into the Orange shop in Poole, and the bloke there said they had them for £299.

Must have just been a coincidence then, had someone in about 10 days ago asking for a different phone, for his wife I think. In fact, I'm fairly sure it was the day we got our SPV car kit in, and then he mentioned that he had a P900 and had just installed it into his car with the HCH-37. Then I showed him my new T630.

Looks like you have a twin!
