you might have to ring O2 and get your international calling bar lifted. it has been years since i had to do that with O2. You may have to pay a deposit or wait a few months and then they will lift it. ring the help line and ask them.

it depends on what your credit check was, if it was unconditional accept, then you can have international calling immediately, else you will either need to wait one month, or three months (depends on credit) before they activate, sometimes, you require a deposit of £75, £100, or £150 (but only if your credit rating sucks or you are an international student)

if your on pay and go then get into a local o2 store where they give ya a voucher for 5 pound. There is a number you can ring instead though, find the number of o2 stored on your sim card and ring them, ask for the international calling plan.

ya pop that into yer phone and bingo, america for 10p per minute. i ring america to talk to my gf for about 5-6 hours every nite and theres a special 70% discount going on right now. its sooo damn handy!

not sure about texts tho.....
