Could someone please answer these questions for me-

1>The MP3 facility sounds great, but is there any way to connect some basic PC speakers to the phone, since I would like to replace my ageing CD player when I go to college (via the headset socket- and is it 2.5 or 3.5mm? Is it safe?). The speakers themselves have an inbuilt amplifier, and are mains powered.

2> Is it true the P900 can only handle 128mb cards? Is there no way around this limit, and how reliable are the cards themselves?

3> How reliable is the phone (honestly?) What bits tend to go wrong the most (software and hardware)?

Cheers for any replies

Firstly welcome to the p900 club! The p900 is a fantastic phone and goes to show that Nokia have lost the plot in their design of mobile phones over the last year or so. I have had Nokia since the start of the mobile phone era but i would never give up on the p900 now!.
As to your questions, well all i can say is that the MP3 player really is loud!!!! so speakers may not be necessary!!! The headphones supplied with the P900 are good. As to good, bad points of p900, i would say the downside of the p900 are in the games department. IT is ok for chess etc, but as you will see from my V Rally post, the controls are a bit weak for more complex games.
Anyway you have overall made the right decision in going for the p900. I got a Nokia 6600 and hated it, but the p900 is a fabulous choice!!

Hey, thanks for replying! I must admit the P900 has grown on me, so tomorrow I'm off to Vodafone to get one. To think I was going to buy a Seimens SX1...one (more) question- do the games (java etc) work with the flip up, or do they only work with the keypad down? I ask because I spied a Mame emu and wondered if it needs a 'full' screen.

Cheers again!

Most applications that you install on the P900 will require you to opetate with the flip down. There are some applications, such as salling clicker, that let you access them throught the applications menu which is accessible with the flip up.

There is no way around the 128mb limit as far as I know. The phone is pretty reliable and quite good for multitasking, which is impressive in such a small unit. It really is quite superb.

The controlls for gaming are, as previously mentioned, quite compromised due to the design of the phone. However, I find that vRally actually works quite well with the on screen controlls. You simply hold the unit like a gameboy and assign steering commands to the left and right of the screen. Internet button for acceleration and thumbs for steering. Its actually quite easy. Superb game by the way. If you are into gaming you'll love this game. The graphics and playability are truly awsome.

@_RubberNuke_, P900 is a very reliable/usable device (far more suitable for everyday use than the P800) its 128mb limit stands as a slight drawback but the memorycards work smoothly with the phone, & yes you can put the phone through amplified PC speakers that have mains power, i use a small adaptor (the phones output is 2.5mm) this 2.5 / 3.5 jack adaptor is available from me at £2.99 + £1 P&P (UK ONLY) if you want one, i will send details if you leave a SMS on 07980482314

Thanks for all the replies! Went to buy one and they were out of stock....have to wait a little longer. Thanks for the offer, patchy, but I've already got a similar adapter, I just wanted to make sure it was safe before I plugged it in.
