I got a p900 and iu havent really found something like an option for cell info, but my phone displays the area in which i am without selecting tht option ( if it exists ).
So i can say that the option ( if it exists ) is already on by default ...

Yes, it has the function. The P900 can be set to display cell info if your network broadcasts it.

Yeah, I'm on O2 and mine does that (sort of). Channel 200 will get you the four local area codes nearest to you. O2 have always done this, I used to have it on my GA628. It's pretty useless though.

I have P900 on Orange...they have never provided cell info.

Do you find any use for it?

Orange doesnt have this facility, o2 you have to set to channel 200 to get the 4 nearest area codes. Vodafone is already preset so all you have to do is turn it on, that gives you the area code of the area you are in not the 4 nearest. T-Mobile and Virgin dont use it either This message was posted from a T610

I use miniGPS for Cell Info, it doesn't give area codes or city details but you can see what Cell you are in and what frequency its broacasting at.

You can set it to send messages & alarms for when you enter certain cells. Its not a bad App, its free & takes up minimal space.
