> Error during P900 firmware update
Bookmark topic
I have successfully used the online update service for the P900 before. My P900 is now at CDA 162003/2 R2C01.
My recent attempt to update the firmware fail with an error message "Error in communication with the device" after SEUS 1.15 has switched the device in the sync station on and off and before actually starting the flashing procedure.
Looks to me like a problem with SEUS 1.15.
Several people here in Switzerland are reporting exactly the same problem and they are all at CDA 162003/2 but different sub-numbers.
The log file produced by SEUS does not feature any error messages.
Any ideas?

Same problem. I'm using 162003/8. Upgraded twice before with no problems what so ever. Given all your problems as well, I'm guessing it's a problem with Sony Ericsson's website - may try again tomorrow?

Yes, the power cable to the sync station was unplugged. Remember that we have successfully done it before. Same procedure.

For those who are having problems, did you guys unbranded your phone from 162004/xx into 162003/xx? Because Sony Ericsson started blocking (Since 3/2/2004) those phones from future online updates unless they go back to branding with "Recovery Mode"
Sony Ericsson's current Online Update program (V1.15) now checks the phone's original CDA# by reading the phone's IMEI# and verifies it with SE database over the internet. If your phone's CDA# doesn't match the IMEI in the SE database, then you're blocked from online update.
To fix this problem you have to run "Recovery Mode," which will then flash your phone back to CDA 162004/xx (Branded) firmware.

How can they be blocking this?
I took my phone to a SE service center and had it flashed their to solve my bluetooth problem.
If this is the case then their is grounds for complaint dont you think so
