> P900 and HBH-200 - SE Customer Response
Bookmark topic
I asked SE whether they were planning on implementing the Handsfree Profile in the P900 to go with the HBH-200.
The correspondance is below, but they have NO plans to implement it.
That sucks!!!

Subject: RE: Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre, Case : 40425978 Dear Sony Ericsson Customer Support,
Thanks for the email - I do have the latest P900 software in my phone and can use most of the HBH200 functionality.
Are there plans to implement a handsfree profile within the P900 for use with the HBH-200? This is something that the customer community at large feels is missing from a good phone (esato.com has significant references to the HBH-200 and P900) and if implemented would make the phone significantly more impressive. It is strange that the P900 and HBH-200 weren't designed
(apparently) with compatibility in mind, but the HBH-200 does have significant advantages over every other BT headset on the market!
Regards,
Rob Nelson

Dear Mr Nelson,
Thank you for contacting the Sony Ericsson Customer Care Centre.
Please accept our apologies for any delays in responding to your email.
With regards to your enquiry, the Sony Ericsson P900 uses the headset profile, this profile does not support caller ID or Call list. For those services you need a Handsfree profile. However, the latest software of Sony Ericsson P900 displays the name and phone number of incoming caller on the Bluetooth handsfree HBH-200.
Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us again for further help and support.

Subject: Bluetooth? Headset HBH-200
Product: Bluetooth? Headset HBH-200
Opinion: Dear SE Support,
I have a P900 and HBH200 bluetooth headset. I've upgraded my phone to the latest firmware (R4A06) for its CDA number and the HBH-200 works well, apart from the call list function.
Can you advise whether this functionality will be added in a software update?
Regards,
Rob Nelson

Typical customer care response. They never really know what R&D is working on anyway so customer care can't tell you anything until the product is about to be launched.
There has to be a better way to get our needs to the development team.
Any ideas?

I've been telling members that the HBH-200 simply SUCKS due to the fact that its primary features are not functional with the P900. Probably the worst investment I made into a BT headset purchase. Several members argued how much this headset was great and that I was just making a personal judgement call.. I can take the fact that almost all SE headsets will have hicups at sometime, but can be fixed or tweaked. However, to not be able to perform as described from the box, 'ever', is totally inexcusable. I wonder how they feel about having boasted about an item whose primary marketted features are incompatible with their phone.
