> Help! My T630 Reception sucks!
Bookmark topic
So I bought this cool little bluetooth phone on ebay and have had just miserable reception. I am dropping calls like crazy (when I get service at all). I thought maybe T-mobile had bad coverage, but I tried a friends old samsung phone and have full signal everywhere! The T630 is lucky to have one bar at best!
Does anyone know why this is? I love this phone and want to keep it.
Did I get a defective phone?
Is there any modification or fix for this (firmware, etc)?
I have the RC4 firmware and even tried flashing it to another country's firmware. No help.
Thanks

I thought it was T-mobile, but the same service with same Sim card on another phone works beatifully!
It was a brand new phone and the guy has good feedback. I don't think the service center would help as I'm in the US and this phone is not sold here yet.
I think I'll get a T610 and if the reception is better, swap the guts (I read on another post the screen will work if I flash the phone).

I think it's due to 1900 mhz band.
Does the samsung support 850/1900 or only 1900?

T-Mobile only has 1900mhz here.

The Samsung is most likely a 1900Mhz band phone only, while the T630 is a tripple band phone. Which puts some limits on antenna design.

It's obviously the phone. It's abnormal not to work cuz that phone is triband.Yes, it's a known fact that when u have a 1900mhz-band-only phone it is better tuned cuz it has only one band. The triband thing is a limitation but this is not normal, not to hold a call.Maybe a weaker signal but no signal at all?
It might be something wrong with the phone.Just check it to a service, not necessarily a

centre, but any gsm centre.Don't u have that? T-Mobile has to have one or work with a service.
Do this before buying another one.

Sure, I agree with 701 it does sound like something is wrong with your T630...

Just bought a T610 from the dealer a few mins ago. both at home and work (places I couldn't even get a signal with the T630) I have at least 2 bars of signal. Have been using it for about a half hour and have not dropped a call.
Will SE warranty a phone in the US that was originally bought in china?
