> Dust under screen(p800).Can be removed?
Bookmark topic
Suddenly a lot of dust appeared in the right corner of the screen under the touchscreen, a little on the middle of the screen! How is that possible? If i take apart the phone is possible to separate the touchscreen and remove the dust? What are the risks? And a way to seal somehow the edges of the screen not to enter dust anymore? Thanks

Well my friend, the P800 is a great phone... but nothing is perfect. Dust problem, it seems, is one of its weaknesses.
The best bet is to bring your baby to the SE service centre and get them to take it apart and clean it for you.
But that, my friend, is not foul-proof cos I had done that twice and yet dust appear after some time.
My advice, live with it...

I also have some dusts under my screen. They bothered me at first, but I learned to live with them. If the dusts bother you every time you look at the screen, you might be tempted to clean the phone yourself BUT just imagine... IF unfortunately something worse happens during the cleaning process, say something cracks accidentally, won't you kill yourself?
That is what happened to me when I installed my first MF screen protector. I found an almost negligible small bubble at the top edge of the screen. I thought I could fix it.
Can you guess at this point that what happened next was a total disaster?
Ultimately, I destroyed the protector from disgust after an hour or so of try-and-more-misses. I thought how stupid I had been in deciding to fix the almost negligible aesthetic defect. I bought another MF the next day to "fix" myself. Apparently, it was not a wise financial decision, but the pain of paying for TWO MF's within 24 hours was nothing compared with the psychological torture. The installation of the second protector was still imperfect. Now, there is a tiny bubble in the right middle portion of the screen, but I am contented now. I have learned my lesson. =)

petrutms,
it's true - dust gets into everything. I had T68i & Panasonic prior getting the P900, dust got into both of them. You just have to deal with it like everyone else, we are not living in a dust-free world unfortunately.

Just as a point, the screen is a sealed unit - there should never be seperation, especially if it's under warranty.
Back in January I had enough with the creeping dust under the screen, and as my 1-year warranty was up in February, I spoke to SE on the phone. I asked them about the screen and this should happen, and they re-assured me that it was supposed to be sealed and that I should bring it in before the waranty elapsed.
I took it to the appointed Amsterdam SE service group. Of course it had to go out, and it stayed out for nearly 3 weeks, but on return I had a new P800 - they just swapped the unit out - and the warranty on the unit was extended from the 8th week to the 43rd week of 2004. Woohoo!
Needless to say, while impatient minds like mine would love to take it apart, it's worth sending the unit in if it's under warranty. My only trouble in all this was that I sent the unit in without the flip (but with the flipless cover) and it came back with another flip. So now I have 2 flips when I would prefer to go flipless..feh. Luckily CeBIT is coming, so maybe I can "convince" someone at the SE booth to remedy this for me.

Why your getting dust under the screen and in the edges is all your fault. Do you know you are flaking a potful of skin a day and old skin is 90% of dust. If you know whats good for your phone and stop flaking. Theres nothing wrong with old skin. Best idea is to klin film your whole body, so skin stays put.
Statistically if 90% of dust is old flaked skin then you should cut the dust down to just 10% on your p800/p900 screen and edges.
Scientists have proven this idea as great and is endorsed by Sony-Ericsson themselves. Euan Kerr from Somerfield says "Dust is now just only a health problem rather than a consistant irritation to my p800 screen. Thank you WildCard#!, your my hero"
Don't delay buy a WildCard#! p*00 screen dust protector(c) today.
Available on e-bay and other such dodgy retailers.

If you are lucky, hold your PX00 on to a TV as huge as possible and the dust will leave the display.
