So I saved up for awile, preregistered this phone, waited longer, chose cingular (discount reasons), and it has been horrible ever since. It all started after I got my sim card. Put it in, everything worked but I was on a cingular extend (at&t tower). That really didnt bug me since im on a nationwide plan, no roaming.
But when I went to setup my wap they got it to work ONCE. Ever since it doesnt work. I have all the correct settings but since im on the roaming tower the internet doesnt work? blah. So after all that I contact cingular about why my tower is roaming, they said they sent my phone instructions and I needed to restart, I did and walla, nothing.
I call them back later in the day and told them nothing changed. They tried to send me a sms message that failed (im guessing that had instructions too.) After all this, they tell me my phone isnt compatable with cingular. What makes it not compatable compaired to that 20 dollar lil phone? No clue.
So now tech support wont help me configure the tower, so i have to do more database research, I find out the tower in springfield, IL is on a 850 gsm, Thats why its not working. I am stuck with a contract and no features because they lied to me. I specificly asked what frequency's they used.
So my question is, what can I do to get my internet to work? And if possible how can I get full gprs to work? Im on an at&t tower now, there merging, so hopefully time will fix it...
Any opinoins?
