Hi there!

I bought a T68i today and when I got home I put it in the charger, but since I cannot wail 16h to play with my new toy I started pushing all the buttons and trying all the menus. The strange thing was that when I got in to the service menu and tried the functionality of the vibrator it didn’t work.. =( I went back to the store to tell them, but when they tried it, it worked.. As usual when you try to show someone that something doesn’t work.. So, I went home again and tried.. It still worked.. =) I put it in the charger and found out that the charger deactivates the vibrating function.. Even in the service menu.. =)

Now I’m happy and I’m just waiting until the battery is fully charged and I can start using my new phone!

Did you all know this? Am I just stupid? The girl in the phone store sure think I am..

Yes. This is deliberately programmed in all phones with vibration alert function (my guess... correct me if I'm wrong).
It's true for all the nokia phones that I've owned so far (8810, 8210, 8850, 8250, 8310). Just in case anybody is tempted to get a 8310, don't! It's the worst phone I've ever had. Worse than 8810!

Oh dear.. looks like we might have a silly poster again!!! LOL

Anyway.. i spose ur not being stupid, you wasnt to know that it would do that, but then again poss u shud have tried it without the charger too. I certainly didnt know that purely cos the fact that ive never noticed it when charging.

The thing that annoys me now is that when u are on a phone call and you get a txt msg - it still beeps and viabrates in your hand!!! Its happened a few times to me now.. but still the phone is the mutts nutts!!!

I think most phones are like that... I remember on my first phone with vibration, I was pissed off and went storming back to the shop....
