> Leave Cingular without being charged $200?
Bookmark topic
Hey, I recently switched to Cingular due to better coverage. However, I am not happy with their service and they are ripping me off any way they can. Unfortunately, I have already passed the 30 day cutoff.
Does anyone know how I can leave Cingular (switch back to T-Mobile) without paying the $200 penalty???
I would really appreciate it!
Thanks!

Only if you can convince the place you purchased it at to cancel the contract without penalty, which is rare.

are you sure it's cingular ripping you off and not the place you got the phone from? you know, you can always change your contract (switch from nation to home and so forth). just give them a call and ask them what you are being charged for, you can change everything right there on the phone. i got a last resort plan by the way - it's totaly cheating, but it will get you out without paying as much.

ok i said without paying much because you're still gonna have to pay. first of all, let me just say, you know its cheaper to just pay the $200 now and get out than go through the whole contract-think about it. you're gonna pay more than that after ther first ten months. anyway, heres what you do: first, get the insurance, i think it's like $2.99 a month. wait a month and make sure it's on your nekt bill. i think it shows up as lockheart. now, this is very important, don't use your phone for a couple of days, then call cingular and tell them you lost it. they'll ask you some questions like where you think you last had it what model it was blah blah blah. i think they give you a confirmation number to give to lockheart. then give lockheart a call, give them the number, go down to the store and pick up your new phone for $50. now you have two brand spanking new (one of which is still in the box) t616s to sell that can make up for or come close to the early termination fee.

Oh come on now! That is so stupid. Yes, we all know about how to scam the phone insurance people. That is stupid. That's not a real way to get out of your contract. That's just a way to be reimbursed, so to say.

No, you said "it will get you out without paying as much". You still pay the full price. You just get a sort of reimbursement.

exactly, which is just like not paying as much. it's just like when the stores say that a $100 product is free after a instant $50 and a $50 mail-in rebate. was the product really for free - no (you did have to pay for it.) but did you get your money back - yes.

Yo. Another idea other then insurance fraud. Consider going to a store and having them at least try and resolve whatever your issues are. See an experienced rep. You are the one who signed up with Cingular, so it is on you.
Another idea is to post what your problem is, and I can probably help you, or send me a private message.
