i know i mite seem like a bit of a berk but nobody ever speaks about using/problems encountered when using a P800 as a modem (like it says on the tin) i have the internet however not on my own personal computer, and would quite like it, but ive ollowed all the dial up steps on the cd, and on windows, but it never works!?

Do i kneed any third-party software or to download anything specific?

i definitely have all the appropriot settings on on my P800, i run Windows ME and im on O2 Genie so i get free GPRS (WAHEY)

just trying to get the most out of my fone, and theres gotta be someone else who has tried it out there.

All and any info would be greatly appreciated

Thanx

(and before you scream "PRAT!!" at the screen i am a relatively knew user)

I dont know if you tried this already but most of the time it is because the ir function has to be selected to "modem" on the phone first. Thats what I saw in most of the post addressing this issue. You can look into it yourself by using "search"

i posted this about 3 hours ago somewhere else, but...

on your notebook/pc, make sure it detects your p800/p900 as a modem, don't install the modem for it, if it is connected via infra red, use the "standard modem over ir link" driver, if it is over bluetooth, just create a new dial up, and enable the ir as modem

enter the dial up number as

*99***1#

username and password is blank, leave firewall blank, and that's all

just select new dial up connection and choose p800/p802 as the modem! connecting on O2 payg, or genie, is a bit hit n miss though
