is there an ebook viewer for .lit formats for the p900? repligo and mobipocket could not read this format

Very doubtful.
.Lit is the Microsoft reader format, and I don't think Microsoft are going to let anyone use their eBooks on a non-MS platform...

You can use convert lit (http://www.convertlit.com/) to convert a .lit ebook to plaintext, and then create a new ebook in mobipocket format using mobipoocket publisher.
Works for me
