I just got P900 from a store in Los Angeles, but it turns out the P900 is the chinese version. Is there any way to change the default language, from the menu or firmware upgrade? Thanks.

you need to go to control panel, other, language selection and see what else is there... however that might be difficult if your menus are currently in chinese so in the english menu control panel is the last but one option in the first screen of the applications list, other is the third tab and language selection is 5th option
Assuming that you only have chinese on the phone you will need to go to the
P900 global support page and click on language tools and pick the language pack you need for your organiser version.
your organiser version can be found by going to the second menu of the applications screen (Edit on the english version) and choosing the 3rd menu item (system information) or by closing the flip and doing the following
jog dial up one click then * key then jog dial down two clicks then * kez then jog dial down one click then * key
