hi guys'
new to this forum, just wandered is the phone compatible with windows/palm programmes. seen a programme i would like and says compatible with windows and palm PDA's.

it was a medical handbook, thought i may aswell get it in pda form rather than hardcopy, didn't fancy dishing out the money unless i knew it worked!!!

your p800 or p900 runs on an operating system like windows called Symbian. but sony ericssson uses a version of Symbian called UIQ, its for phones with a touchscreen.

and e-book is a book in a format similar to a microsoft word file but nicer and open source which means that nobody owns that format. (at least i dont think its owned by anyone)

and mobipocket is an awesome program for reading these e-books on a p900 or p800.

Sorry, missed the post. But meatmcguffin explained it very well.
Check in what format your medical handbook for Palm is in. If it's a .prc file you can maybe read it on your P900 with Mobipocket.

guys, thats great info, i'll look into it. What i don't understand is that the manual explains powerpoint and 'word' work on the p900, surely thay are in windows format, so should not work!!!

word and excel files can be read(and wrote) on p800/p900 using a program called quickoffice.
The built-in viewer can only read them and it is slow
