If I have an all day event with an alarm on. The P900 dutifully sounds the alarm at 11:45 PM!

Is there any way to set a more reasonable time for alarms associated with all day events. (Alas, my beloved Newton could do this

Also or alternatively, is there some way to set alarms so they only ring for a minute or so and then turn themselves off.

I know I can set up all day events with no alarms. However, in Outlook my default is alarms on and every now and then I forget to turn off alarms for an all-day event (or I actually want an alarm (but at a reasonable hour)).

Thanks,
Paul T

well a roundabout way of doing things would be to put the phone into silent mode when you go to bed and turn silent mode off when you wake up in the morning. that way the alarms wont wake you up but you should still have a text reminder waiting for you in the morning.

i always wondered if this was a flaw in the p900. why isnt there a silent mode which still keeps the alarm sounds on? anyway, hope that helps a lil bit

@Paul T

You can set the alarm time for any time you like, just tap the time it shows and change it. Easy

Thanks for the suggestions however:
- putting the phone in silent mode doesn't work for two reasons: I still need to get phone calls, and I'd probably forget anyway.
- changing the time doesn't work because there is no good way to know when I might get an all day event scheduled. I would need to check tomorrows schedule every day before turning in.

I'm really looking for a way to handle this in the general case.

Maybe there isn't a way.

Thanks,

When you create an all day event, you probably click on alarm, and leave the default time as 00:00 on the day. You need to click on the date, change the date, then click on time and change it instead of leaving it on default. Have it remind you a week early or even better the night before, round about time you turn in for zzzzzzzzzzzz.

The trouble is I don't create the all-day events on the P900. Sometimes I don't create them at all. They are created on my PC. Sometimes my assistant creates them and I don't even necessarily know about it. She could be miles away adding items via Exchange to my calendar. Then when I synchronize, they are added to the P900.

So it appears there is no way to automagically have the alarm time for all-day events set to something reasonable.

Thanks,

I am not familiar with all-day events with outlook.

However, when I schedule an all-day event in Lotus Organizer, i can set up a reminder time when ever I want. This syncs up perfectly as the alarm time for my phone.

Now, I see that Outlook has the same sort of thing. What you need to set up is either no reminder at all, or a reminder that's 3 hours before (9pm)

Oh right. I get you. Well probably the only solution is to educate your assistant in changing the alarm time. Apart from that you will probably have to check everynight. On the calendar all day events are blue so not to hard to spot.

Does the P900 come with any form of daily alarm clock? Is there any plug-in for this available?

(It would be nice to have different weekday and weekend settings!)

Ship
