Hi
I am having *major* problems synching my new P900 with Windows2000 / Outlook2002.
I am getting "mRouterRuntime" and "Fatal Exception... Access Violation" errors
I have tried completely disabling my McAfee VirusScan Professional before installation.
I installed PC Suite v2.1.0 off the CDROM and then PC Suite v2.3.1 from the web... but even with McAfee completely disabled I am still getting these errors.
Usually it lets me synch with Outlook fine until I try do a backup and then all hell breaks loose!
Now my PC is on a network, and when I access the Web it goes through a Firewall. Is it possible that the
Firewall could be causing trouble even though the firewall is not actually running directly on my machine?! (If so why ?! because I am not doing anything that acesses the Net!!)
I can see there has been some discussion of mRouter on this forum... but what's the latest?
Should I get in touch with Sony Ericsson directly??
(And if so how!?)
With many thanks

I had similar problems. Try re-installing the latest PC Suite and sync station drivers. If possible make sure your phone is on the latest fimrware.
When you try to sync make sure Outlook is running. At first try syncing one field at a time.

How do you install the latest firmware - particularly if my pc wont "see" the mobile. Maybe I need to completely uninstall McAfee! (A painful process) rather than just disable it?
My phone appears to have ad CDA number of "162004/3 R4A01" and an organiser number of "CXC162021 R2C01" (not the latest!).
But I'm not clear as to how to update it now that
the PC wont recognise the P900!!

Glad to hear that the misfortunes of others provide you with entertainment.
You will be sad to hear that I have managed EVENTUALLY to intall the latest software onto the P900 and the latest versio nof PC Suite onto my PC and managed to backup AND restore my data first.
However you will be delighted to hear that it still gives and "MROUT3~2.exe" error message as soon as I connect it up to my PC (Win2000) and that's even if I've disabled McAfee!

Follow the instructions on this page - it fixes the issue - worked for me. PS use the "I know what I am doing" function and remove all entries....

UPDATED!!!!
Based on the feedback and private message threads it would appear that this application is more powerful than I had at first realised. All I can say is that I had the mrouter error too and when looking at various errors saw that I was also have a GPF in relation to the winsock files. Having run the application in automatic mode and seen no change I ran it in "I know what I am doing mode". This cured my problem.
I too went through SE technical support and logged the resolution with them so that the solution could be shared with others. In future please be careful with this approach and possibly have SE confirm that this is the last thing you can try.
PS It should be noted that I too was running Windows 2000 and McAfee....

I had the same prob. I disabled McAfee firewall by right clicking the icon in the taskbar and clicking "Exit Firewall". This was the only way I could get it to work. This will only work after a fresh Windows startup.

Has anyone else tried this CEXX utility "LSP-Fix"?
I am nervous of installing this program because it appears to fix a problem that I dont have! i.e. I can access the Internet just fine, thanks.
No, the only problem I have is getting my phone to connect LOCALLY to my PC without error messages!
Are you sure LSP-fix is a safe idea (Windows2000 professional/Outlook2002/McAfee VirusScan Prof)...?

P.S. I may be missing something but I'm not knowingly running any firewall as such: Just McAfee's VirusScan Professional... and that seems to re-enable itself each time I re-boot. I *have* tried stopping it's "HAWK script stopper" utility from attacking various of the relevant PC Suite programs by specifying certain of the programs as being "trusted scripts" and/or disabling the HAWK but this seems to make no difference!

Oh my GAWD now what have I done!?
I disabled McAfee.
I Tried the "LSPFix" utility from CEXX, ticked "I know what I'm doing" (not true of course) and removed all the listings.
i.e.
mr20.dll
winrnr.dll
CSLSP.dll
msafd.dll
rsvpsp.dll
Then I rebooted
I re-disabled McAfee
I attached my mobile to my PC. And sure, great, no error messages. But sign of a connection either!
And NOW MY PC BLEEPS EVERY 4 SECONDS!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaargh!
Please advise ASAP!

P.S. Dear Moderator, is seem to me that "castleyt" may have viciously and deliberately tried to stop me having internet access at all. Unluckily for him/her I have two PCs. Please can you do something about this.
