yeh, use epocware file manager. Dunno where you get it cos i got it on a disk.
Unfortunately it doesnt seem to let you delete stuff only browse and write.

if I do a backup of my phone then format the c drive, will my txt msgs remain or will they be deleted?

formating will delete everything including msgs but restoring a backup will restore also ur msgs and programs.
