Has anyone written a plug in to do tone-dialing down a land-line phone?!
You know - like an "acoustic coupler"!
Background:
You know how mobile phone calls are more expensive and zap your brain and waste your batteries... well, they are still very useful way of accessing your friends/contacts phone numbers.
As you may know all you need to do to a terrestrial phone line to make it dial is to send tones of the right frequencies (ie "tone dialing").
Has anyone written a software utility for the P900 to make it dail a terrestrial number by emitting the number's tones from the ear-peice?!
[ I dont think the mobile nextwork providers would be too happy about it if it existed, but it would be damned useful to me at least!! ]
P.S. (Failing that how do make the backlight persist for more than about 10 seconds when the lid is shut.
And more than about the seconds when the lid is open!)

I read through your post a few times. At first I didn't understand anything, but finally I was able to deduct the following:
"You want to dial through a regular phone by using P900 earpiece".
If I got it correct, there's a freeware DTMF dialer in
http://my-symbian.com/uiq/app[....]ications.php?fldAuto=223&faq=2 which I use regularly.

1. search
www.my-symbian.com for "dtmf" under the uiq section. it's free.
2. goto control panel, display and change the light from auto to on!

You're right. I keep copying and pasting numbers from my contacts with the free one. Well, it just takes a few seconds.

Hmm sorry for being a newbie but what's "appforge"?
And to save time, what does p800tonedialer cost
(and are we sure it works on a P900!?)
Cheers
