as much as I luv this phone...... don't others on here, like me, just feel like flinging it out the window when, for the umpteenth time, it decides it don't wanna talk to your PC via the USB ?
Sorry but I've nearly had enough of this.

I've not had a single problem with the USB connection.
If you do - try turning the PHONE on and off.

or, right-click on the mrouter icon in the system tray, and disable and re-enable the usb link.

So have you ever had your Phone connected to your P.C?
Maybe it just could be your Sync-station has not been recognised.
Could try UN-installing P.C. Suite then RE-install to see if that helps?!?

Someone with the same problem!! I thought I was going mad! I have this problem all the time, drives me insane. I have tried different USB ports, re loading software, restarting pc, restarting phone, even using a different pc. And it still just works when it wants to.
Highly annoying.
And another thing thats annoys me. The camera button is in a stupid place and I keep pressing it with my thumb bimistake.
Oh and yet another thing, why the hell didnt sony use a standard mini jack for the headset? That way you could use a decent set of sony headphones!
Other than that, its very good.

@robsheldon
Have you got a firewall running in the background? Could be the problem. Though it works flawlessly here every time, just make sure not to set a speed higher than 115.000kbs in the control panel and deafult for the rest of the settings in the "cable" menu.
As for the headphones output. Just get a 2,5 -> 3.5 adapeter and use any headphone you want.

I've been lucky and never had an issues with the sync-station, however I have seen people that have had problems with USB devices.
To get around this I try and find out the manufacturer of the usb socket (not always the board manufacturer) and see if there are any driver updates.
Hope this helps.

It happened to me too. Every time I tried it always say 'connecting' and never 'connected'. After much effort and time wasted trying i brought the connector to an SE Service Center. Turned out i got a defective connector and they said they will try to replace it in two weeks time..... Hope this help....

I use a firewall (Zone Alarm Pro) and it asked for permissions for the programs the first time after that no worries, however sometimes the phone just sat there connecting, if it didnt connect within 5 seconds I take it of the sync station and put it back on and it conecst right away.
Well this works for the p800 anyway.
