Is that possible (I mean, for the software part of course)

It had been the case for the T68(i), and some people are telling me that it's NOT the case for the T610.. Is it true? (that'd deeply shock me)

Yes, it's possible, and has been done. It's uncertain as to whether it makes the phone slower, though.
