Does anyone know how to optimize the video quality on a P800?
I know it depends on the quality of the compression but mine still has a bit of a mong when I try to play one.

Try SmartMovie and you can forget about the rest. (if you don't mind havind larger filesizes) The difference with this excellent piece of software compared to the others is -especially on a P800- hughe!
Nothings gets the quality of SmartMovie. The only thing that comes close it Mobiclip. But this is A) much more work to encode and B) had less sound quality.
It's really user friendly, so just give it a try!

Mobiclip has incredible videoquality, like watching tv, but filesizes are unacceptably large.
Haven't seen smartmovie yet though, but in my opinion you should have to be able to fit a two hour movie on one 128MB stick, or els it's just too much of a hassle and way too expensive.

Gee, Thanks prodjsxb!
backing me up like this, when i have never even met you....
And Rokin128 (who i also have never met before

)
It IS possible to fit a 2 hr movie on a 128 DUO stick, You'll need to encode on settings like 96Kbit/s video and 32 Kbit/s audio. Than a >2 hr movie will be less than 128MB. Personally, i haven't tried it myself, but you could 'check it out'.
Ok perfect strangers, my 2 cents...

Mobiclip is by far the best program here, but we need more than 128MB in order to watch film properly, no matter what program you currently use, including Smartvideo and Mobiclip; with current memory restrictions you won't get fluid video. If Sony included pro support we wouldn't have a problem here and I think mobiclip would definetly be the first choice. The video quality I get from current 3ggp/MP4 and Smartvideo files isn't fluid enough to watch a full length film but MobiClip is great for 20 minute episodes of South Park. I hate watching pixellated clips, which is why I can't watch anything on the standard player.
