once in a while when i tap on the contact icon, names show up on the left but the numbers on the right are not there. once i select a name and come back out to the contact list, then the numbers reappear.

Is this a normal behavoir? Has anyone experience this before as well?

Probably a bug in the firmware.
Try a firmware update, but if that's not an option then it's possible that you have some software that might make the system a bit unstable.
My advice... learn to love that quirck, cuz there are many more unfixable bugs out there way worse!
Luck!

i wish people would stop getting people to get a firmware flash for every minor thing,

this is a minor bug, or it might not even be a bug, after turning on your phone, or if you have a system app that closes other applications, if you close the contacts application, then open it again, the names will appear, but the numbers will be missing, and when you go to another application, then go back to the contacts, they're their again, the fact that they don't show on the first time they load, might be just the way the program loads, upon opening the contacts, you see them refresh downwards, which means the names are loaded first, when you click off it, then on again, you'll see the names are already loaded, it just loads the additional numbers on the right hand side.

Hi sorry bout the blank post mates, connection issues. I had the exact same problem with mine, but i found out that it was probably Sman doin the dirty on me. I had it set on "flipclosed flush" and "forced endtask" and that was eliminating any updates i made to the contacts i.e. askin it to show numbers. Once i turned smans flushing off, then turned the setting to show favoured numbers off and on, its stayed on ever since. Any similar program seems to affect the contacts the same. Hope that helps you

best of luck, enjoy ur P9!
