Hi!
My old T300-phone broke a couple of days ago and I have been looking for a new phone to buy, first of all I thought about the 3G phone Motorola A920 (or A925 - but it is'nt out here yet) and I really like all of the functions (the symbian os and everything that you can do with it) such as MP3-player, Camera, PDA and the regular phone. The problem with the A920/A925 is that it is too large, and now I am looking at the P800 or P900. They are relatively small in size (not much larger than my old T300 which in my opinion wasn't that large) and seam to have everything I need - included in one little wonderful phone. Anyway, to my questions. For the record, I have been searching the forum _alot_ to find the answer to my questions but it really is a djungle out there.
1) First of all, why should I choose the P900 over the P800? Is it worth the extra 250$ or so? Why is the P900 so much better than the P800?
2) How well does the MSN Messenger applications work, and which one should I use? Being online on MSN, chatting or being idle, how much data will it send and recieve, how many Mb/Month do you think will be required for running MSN a couple of hour each day?
3) Is the sound quality in the MP3-player good? Can it compete with any of the MP3-players out there? (or maybe compared to the Motorola A920?)
4) How good is the picture quality, compared to other phones such as the Samsung E700?
5) How well does the P800 and P900 (compared) play divx/xvid/mpeg4/wma movies, how do you compress regular movies, and about how large do they get? Is it slow to run them in full screen, and is there any screenshots of a P800 / P900 doing this?
6) Any other funny or useful applications that I should get for my new phone?

)
And also any other tips or help that you can give me..
Thanks alot, everyone!

For your price range you'll be looking at a P800... which is still good! I'm not sure bout MSN messengers, but the Audio player is really good!

My price range?

I am thinking about buying a used one, and the P800 cost about 330$ used and the P900 cost about 600$ used (but with warranty left)...
I have about 550$ now to use on a phone and if the P900 is worth it I can get another 50-100$..
How is the sound quality? Does it compete with an Ipod or such?

That's the problem.. I do not know if I should get the P900 instead of the P800, and if it is worth it.. That's the reason for all of my questions

I plan to use it, that's the point of having the phone
For an example, does playing video's in full screen work much better on the P900 than on the P800?
How much better is the camera?

Well they are pretty much the same(this might cause a little fuss!) But really using them and doing the same things on them there is not much different.
I have the P800 and I have the money to buy a P900, I was in the shop and thinking about it then thought it would be a waste of money, they make the same phone calls, the Mp3 player is the same, the cam is the same, they send the same emails, opera works on both, sms are the same, contracts are the same, not that interested in havig a mp3 at a ring tone. The screen is better, but to me thats not that important, cause the cam i crap to start with.
I guess if you are in your position and money is no concern then buy a P900, but if you own a P800 I dont think it is worth it if you have the money or not. I think the p800 looks better, its smoother and doesnt look so boxy.
but at the end of the day you must work out what you use the p900 for that the p800 cant do, and the answer to that is not much at all!

The things I have seen in the p900 that I like are the full size stylus, the fact its thinner, the better screen, mp3 ringtones, themes and thinner chassis. It can also play videos better than the p800 as is. I also like the keypad. However the most important thing that it offers is online firmware upgrading, thats very important for me. Because they abandoned that idea with the p800. If and when they are available here I will upgrade my p800 with the p900

If full screen video is important to you, then it's fair to say the P900 is smoother - although this is really down to the software rather than any significant hardware change (same processor etc). Also the screen is better. Having said that, the Camcoder app available for the P800 actually plays vids very smoothly too, and also adds a video camera similar to the P900's communicorder.
Since you have the money you may as well get the P900; just be aware that all you're paying the extra for is a different shape and slightly prettier software. If you did go for the P800, and save your money, you probably wouldn't regret it.
