seems to have a lot better sound quality etc.
Look on the pic, theres a mic. on the phonespeaker, cant be good sound in that way.

yeah but the bluetooth also have a mike i think. Also this could be the poor man's bluetooth & may compete with other costly gadgets because most people (as of now) still don't have bluetooth enabled mobiles. Well I guess its just my view

I thought it still had a mic popping out - well that was what Jan said in one of the earlier posts. The BT just makes it wireless. I think the later versions of BT will pick up voice using jaw vibrations... but they are still some time away. I hope others who know more can pitch in.

the headset sends the "sound" to the bluetooth thingy in the phone... that's the whole idea... else it would be worthless... almost...

BT is way out of league for IR. I think the only reason we still see them on phones is that they're just too common in many devices. BT will eventually be as common as IR - until something new comes up.
