Hi

Anyone tried a screen protector to stop scratches e.g. the "Martin Fields Overlay Plus Screen Protector" (e.g. http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/2268.htm)

I really want it just to protect my screen from scratches, but am concerned
a) about light transmission
b) interfering with the touch sensititivity of screen
c) how difficult it might be to get it off again (esp after a year or so!!)
d) wondering if the adhesive might damage the touch screen OVER TIME...
e) Image degradation

MFOP do seem to be quite popular in all the screen protector threads as are brando

take a look at those for starters and maybe someone can answer your specific questions

In one of the threads in the search results Masseur posted above there is a link to a website which shows the pictures after applying the various screen protectors.

regarding question B - It never occured to me that the screen protector inteferes with the touch sensitivity of the screen. (I am not usng Overlay plus though. But it is considered to be the best)

Regarding question C & D- The screen protectors stick to teh screen using static force and not using any adhesives hence its not difficult to take it off even after a long time. Also hence it wouldn't damage the touch screen

Regarding question E - Different screen protectors have different opacity (if that is the right word) but you would hardly recognise any difference again in the link I mentioned above you can see how the phone looks with various screen protectors

Hope this helps

I remember somebody on here mentioning that a 65mm x 45mm (I think) rectangle cut from an OHP transparency works just as well. I tried it and it worked like a charm. You can remove it whenever you like.

@ GoldFinger

I also have the Brando one, and find it very good. Does not interfear with the touch screen at all. However the screen seems to have a different feel to it.

iv noticed on ebay there is also an EC Film Pro Screen Protector which uses a very light adhesive
ECFilm Pro for p900
has anyone tried this? how is it? the reviews that i have read on the internet suggest it is quite good but what about in comparison to the martin fields or brando protectors?
http://www.spug.net/reviews/recfilm.htm

Wahay! That was my first post and i just want to say i only discovered esato a few days ago when searching for a p900 on the net. Now it's become my bible for information i visit it several times a day. Can't wait till my p900 gets delivered.

I tried the expansys ones the other day.

They're terrible. Worst things I'd ever used. They're flimsy, and when you attach them to the screen, it's like trying to re-attach a plastic protective cover that had previously been removed. The adhesive was unever, and it diffracted the light off the screen so it looked like it had been sneezed on.

The PPC techs ones seem to be ok for me, although they do cloud up the screen quite a lot. Might have to try a brando or MFOP one...
