Is there anyone else out there that has a similar problems with the Sony Ericsson P900 Sync software conflicting with McAfee Virusscan Professional?

I had this problem immediatley, If I uninstall the Firewall and then disable the Viruscan I can then access my P900/Sync software. Otherwise I get these Errors.

FATA EXCEPTION (thread 00001808)
ACCESS VIOLATION:

mRouterRuntime.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You will need to restart the program.
An error is being created.

INTERNAL ERROR 412
Could not create instance of mRouter Access Point
Restart the Computer. If problem persists, please reinstall.

I now have a thread setup at McAfee, awaiting technical support.
http://forums.mcafeehelp.com/viewtopic.php?p=134710#134710

Anyone found a solution to this as I really need the McAfee Software/Virusscan/Firewall to be running.

Any help is much appreciated.

Had same problem with mcafee.
So downgraded back to version 6 (Mcafee) but there are still the occasional Fatal Violation errors popping up.
Also there seems to be a known issue with all the mcafee firewall versions, shame as I consider Mcafee to be the best antivirus/ firewall out there.

So I using Mcafee Version 6 and Sygate personal firewall. Seems to work well enough.
I also found this app by a Mr Birth that kills all processes required to run the pc suite hence letting you reconnect phone to cradle and restarting the pc link without rebooting.
Email me and i'll forward the app to ya.
Peace

Thanks Toothpic, Ill take a look at it.

Imanuk, trust me AVG is not as good at McAfee. You get what you pay for. AVG is solid, but McAfee for me was able to pick up a whole list of virus's that AVG couldn't recognise.

I am running Norton's Corporate Edition Antivirus. Its the most solid AV program I have ever seen or used. It's Realtime scanner is superb' I used to have McAffee, but still a virus got through and messed things up on two separate computers. After I installed Norton, its been 2 years and nothing! and I mean Nothing! has infected my system. We even tested it by purposely trying to open worms and trojans and it stopped them everytime, it will also scan a file whilst downloading and stop it if it is infected. I am also using Zone Alarm Pro for the firewall, and no issues with Sync Station software.

Hi prodjsxb
Thanks for the comment. I had been unable to use Norton Antivirus previously because it conflicts with my Microsoft Personal Webserver / .ASP pages.

I have not tried Corporate however.

As for Zone Alarm Pro, I was told it isnt the most safe of firewalls. Give it a test at http://www.grc.com/lt/leaktest.htm

Let me know of the results. The test couldnt get past my McAfee firewall.

Nope! Couldnt get through. My firewall works fine, thanks for pointing that proggy out though. That may come in handy for friends. I use FTP Voyager and Macromedia Studio MX With Coldfusion for my webpage stuff, and I havent had any problems.
